Classical Christian Education
What is Classical Christian Education
Classical Christian education is an older, deeper way of schooling that aims to form the whole person—mind, heart, and character—under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Rather than chasing educational trends, classical Christian schools:
Recover the liberal arts: the historic pattern of learning known as the Trivium—grammar, logic, and rhetoric.
Feed students on great books: Scripture and the classic works of history, literature, theology, philosophy, and science.
Integrate all subjects under Christ: every class, from math to music, is taught in light of a Christian worldview.
Pursue virtue as well as knowledge: we are not satisfied with smart students; we aim for wise, humble, and courageous Christians.
In high school, this means students are trained to:
Read challenging texts with understanding and discernment
Think clearly and critically about ideas
Communicate truth winsomely in speech and writing
See the unity of God’s world—how history, science, art, and theology fit together
Classical Christian education is not simply “harder school.” It is a different kind of school: one that prepares students for any calling by grounding them in what is true, good, and beautiful, and by rooting them deeply in Christ.
Why a Classical Christian High School in Monroe?
For many families in Monroe and the Sky Valley, the transition after 8th grade is painful:
Local Christian K–8 schools provide a strong foundation, but there is no nearby Christian high school.
The local public high school has, over time, embraced a culture and set of assumptions that are increasingly at odds with Christian faith and virtue.
Homeschooling through high school, while a blessing for some, can be isolating and overwhelming for many families.
Our new school exists to meet this need.
A Local, Christ-Centered Option
We are committed to:
Providing a rigorous, Christ-centered high school education right here in Monroe
Offering a natural next step for graduates of local Christian K–8 schools
Welcoming public school and homeschool students who desire a serious Christian learning community
We are not a retreat from the world, but a place where students can be equipped to engage the world wisely and faithfully—grounded in Scripture, anchored in the great tradition of Christian thought, and surrounded by peers and teachers who share their pursuit of Christ.
A Serious Community of Learning
Admission to our school is based on an application and interview so that:
Families understand our classical Christian mission and commitments
Students know they are entering a school that requires effort, discipline, and maturity
Remaining enrolled will mean:
Working diligently in challenging courses
Participating respectfully in a Christian community
Growing in character as well as in knowledge
For families seeking something more than either secular schooling or minimal academic expectations, our school offers a deliberately different path: one that unites strong academics, deep Christian discipleship, and a supportive local community.
