Key Policies

This overview highlights core policies that shape daily life at St. Luke's. Full details will be provided in the family and student handbook.

📱

Technology & Device Policy

We want students' attention on people and learning, not screens.

  • During the school day, personal devices (phones, smartwatches with messaging, tablets, etc.) are required to be off and stored.
  • Students will not use social media, gaming, or non-academic websites at school.
  • School computers or tablets are filtered, monitored, and for instructional purposes only.
  • Parents remain the primary decision-makers about technology at home.
🤝

Code of Conduct & Discipline Philosophy

Our code of conduct is rooted in love of God and neighbor.

  • Show respect for teachers, staff, and fellow students.
  • Practice kindness and peacemaking.
  • Demonstrate integrity — no cheating or dishonesty.
  • Take responsibility for work, words, and behavior.
Discipline is firm but restorative, consistent, and personal. Our goal is formation, not punishment.

Attendance & Schedule Expectations

Because learning is relational and discussion-based, attendance is essential.

  • Arrive on time each day.
  • Attend all scheduled classes unless excused.
  • Parents should notify the school promptly of illness.
  • Plan vacations and appointments outside school hours.
Chronic tardiness or absence harms learning and community.
👕

Dress & Appearance Expectations

We intend to implement a simple, modest, and consistent dress standard.

  • Modesty in fit and length for all students.
  • Neat, clean, and non-distracting clothing.
  • Closed-toe shoes appropriate for safety.
  • Hair and accessories should not distract from learning.
The full dress code and uniform requirements are provided on the Uniform Policy page.
🛡️

Safety, Bullying & Reporting

Student safety is a non-negotiable priority.

  • All staff undergo appropriate background checks.
  • Clear procedures for supervision and boundaries.
  • Concerns about misconduct will be taken seriously.
  • Bullying, harassment, and intimidation are not tolerated.
  • Clear channels for students and parents to report concerns.
The school maintains plans and training for emergencies and safety protocols.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

— Proverbs 22:6
